Team Hope

Team Hope is our training team in which participants raise money to benefit people with cancer and their loved ones at Hope Connections. Team members receive a comprehensive training program to help them prepare to complete a relay, marathon, half marathon or other endurance event.  Team Hope members can walk or run in a group event selcted by Hope Connections or participate in any event of their choosing (5k, 10k, half or whole marathon, iron man, triathalon, biking event, etc.)

American Odyssey Relay
May 1 - 2, 2015
Hope Connections is honored to be one of the beneficiaries of the American Odyssey Relay, a 200-mile relay from Gettysburg, PA to Washington, DC.  The event provides two opportunities for the adventurous - the full 200-mile relay (team of 12) and AOROne, a 76-mile relay (team of 6).
The AOR 200-mile relay consists of 36 legs ranging from 3.2 to 8.7 miles, with each team member running three legs. AOROne consists of 12 legs ranging from 3.2 to 8.7 miles with each team member running two legs. 
You can join us as an individual runner and be placed on a team, or you can organize your own team.  Each runner will have a fundraising commitment of $1,000 and will receive a comprehensive training program, a team running shirt and a great finish line party.

Rock the Creek Relay
September 27, 2015

Hope Connections for Cancer Support will be the beneficiary of this new brand new event.  This six-leg relay of about 30 miles is perfect for a team of three or a team of six runners.  It will start and finish at Lake Needwood Park and will include some great music, good food and a whole lot of wonderful people.

Candy Cane City 5k

This is a great event for people of all ages.  With the option to walk or run the 5k, past Team Hope members have included adults, children, dogs, people in cancer treatment or recovery, family members and friends .  The course runs along Beach Drive and the trails of "Candy Cane City" in Meadowbrook Park, Chevy Chase, MD.

Training will begin the Saturday after Labor Day and meet every Saturday thereafter until the day of the event.  The team will meet at 9 a.m. at Hope Connections for Cancer Support, Beaumont House at FASEB, 9650 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD, where we will set out for a group walk run.
