Volunteer

Do you want to make a difference in the life of someone affected by cancer? Then become a Hope Connections volunteer!

As an organization with a small staff serving many, many people with cancer and their loved ones, we have a variety of volunteer opportunities and truly treasure those who lend their time and expertise to serve our mission.

If you are interested in becoming a valued part of our community, please consider volunteering in one of the following capacities:

Administrative & Technical Support

* Work in the office at a regularly scheduled time each week
* Be on call to help with special projects
* Provide pro bono IT support

Outreach Activities

* Represent Hope Connections at health fairs and community events
* Deliver program calendars to oncology offices, hospitals and other venues

Fundraising & Special Events

* Assist with grant research and writing
* Help staff our special fundraising events (Gala, Drive Out Cancer, etc.)
* Serve on a special event committee
* Host a fundraising event for Hope Connections

Team Hope

* Help recruit participants for one of our Team Hope events
* Develop outreach and partnership opportunities for this program
 

Young Professionals Group

* Social networking events to raise awareness and funds to support our programs
* Group volunteer opportunities such as American Odyssey Relay

Marketing & Public Relations

* Write & distribute calendar & public service announcements
* Write press releases and media advisories
* Update our media list
* Develop & pitch feature story ideas
* Write opinion page submissions & letters to the editor

Program Support

* Help staff our education program events
* Identify partnership opportunities to support our program activities

Other Opportunities

* Provide pro bono auditing services
* Serve on a Board of Directors committee
